Desmond Todd  President

.

Desmond Todd is the president of Red Hills Retro Link Up. He has a passion for the community where he lived with his parents and siblings from 1977, when his parents decided to move their family from Duhaney Park to Mosquito Valley. He attended Calabar High School where he graduated in 1979. He migrated to the United States in March of 2001. He now resides in Queens, New York, with his daughter, Taylor. His two older children, Shane and Jhennell, continue to live in Jamaica, West Indies.

 

Mr. Todd was an athlete playing football for Stanmore United, Belvedere, and Red Hills United. He got involved in community services when he became a member of the Red Hills United Club and was appointed as a sports coordinator under the presidency of Peter Jackson.  Here he gained the experience of organizing fundraising and sports events.  He proceeded to organize a combined football team that participated in the then Red Label Wine City League and was successful in reaching the finals. He also coached the Desert Storm football team which played in the Red Hills corner league and won the championship two(2) times in succession.

 

Currently, Mr. Todd is the head coach for the Rosedale Soccer Club and the director of coaching, supervising the coaches for the travelling teams and intramural program. He was inducted into the Rosedale Hall of Fame in December 2014. He became the third coach of the Soccer Club to receive such an honor.  Throughout the years Mr. Todd continues with dedication and commitment to support his community and the youths. 

 

Anthony Richards

Vice President/ Treasurer

Anthony Richards was born and  raised in the Red Hills community of West Rural St. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies. From an early age he was taught great values by his parents, family members, and other individuals that he looked to for guidance. With the values he was taught along with his strict upbringing, he was molded into a trustworthy, ethical, self motivated, polite, and hardworking individual. To his family and friends he was seen as a young man that possessed some distinct and unique qualities, which charted his way to success.

 

He developed a strong sense of community value and a strong desire to help others, and thus became very involved in community activities. He was a popular athlete and  his involvement in various athletic activities created a staunch disciplinarian. Anthony was clearly defined by his faith in God, not his popularity as an athlete nor his achievements.  He was a member of the Red Hills Baptist Church, where he served in various leadership capacities with distinction. As a young disciplined and vibrant young man, he was recognized andd respected by his peers and was elected president of the Red Hills United youth Club. Anthony was renowened for providing strong and outstanding leadership for his peers and community at large. Anthony possesses a passion for helping others; he served as the director of  “Boys to Men” mentoring program for many years in the Orlando region in which he continues to enjoy working with the youths of the inner city where he resides with his family.

 

His early schooling started at the Red Hills Basic School, then to Red Hills Primary, Swallow field all-age, Gaynestead High School and Wolmers Boys High School. He was a strong advocate on being educated, and so when he relocated to the USA, he continued his education at Bronx Community College; Pace University(New York City), where he obtained his Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Accounting; and finished at Everest University(Florida), where he obtained his MBA in Business Administration.

 

When he is not involved with his family or working with the youths, he occupies his time with his hobbies, which are playing soccer, reading, watching Western movies (“cowboy shows”), and watching other sporting activities.

Patricia Bolt-Thomas

Vice President

Patricia Bolt-Thomas, otherwise known as Dr. Thomas or Prophetess Blessed P is an ordained Minister under the New Life World Outreach Ministries, located in Pembroke Pines, Florida where the Pastors are Nathaniel and Cassandra Patterson.  She is married to Wayne Thomas and is a proud mother of three (3) children and four (4) grandchildren.

 

She is a graduate of Excelsior High School in Jamaica. Her other educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts; Masters of Business Administration; and a PhD in Philosophy of Higher Education. 

 

Dr. Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer of JamzRock Radio. She is known for how radical she is about kingdom business, and her zest in serving the Lord. Her radical approach in winning souls is evident in the worldwide listenership of her popular radio show “The Feast” which airs every Sunday at 7:00 PM on JamzRock Radio out of Florida.

 

Dr. Thomas is a Board Member of New Life Enrichment Center; Chief Financial Officer for W.T. Tiling and Construction Company; Chief Accountant for a branch of the U.S. Government; Executive Director of Public Relations for One Voice One Community; Vice President for Red Hills Retro Link-Up Jamaica; and teaches at a major University in Florida.  She is a strong advocate for victims of Human Trafficking. Additionally, Dr. Thomas is also the Manager for gospel recording minister, Dr. Norris Weir.

 

Patricia Bolt-Thomas has encountered many barriers in life, but considers each one a learning and growth process. She has learnt to appreciate each opened and closed doors in her life; and through it all her greatest satisfaction is working for the Kingdom of God. Kingdom work includes radio ministry, street ministry, Greeters ministry, motivational speaking, and the heading of the Ushers, and mentoring young ladies through a program called “Daughters of Grace.”

 

Dr. Thomas believes that we are truly in the last days and it is important to go out in the world to preach the gospel, and win souls for the Kingdom.  She continues to travel extensively in preaching the good news of the gospel.

Her favorite sentences are “To God be ALL the glory” and “Love you like Wow,” and her favorite Bible verse is:

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [but] in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

 

Karleen Seaton
Secretary

 

Karleen Seaton, the current secretary of the Red Hills Retro Link Up is no stranger to the group, nor the community, as she was a resident of Burnside Valley, Red Hills, throughout her childhood and most of her early adulthood.

She attended the Red Hills All Age and Rock Hall All Age Schools.  She later went to Excelsior High School where she was a graduate with the Class of 1982.

 

Ms.  Seaton not only lived in the community, she was involved in the life of the community. She served as the assistant treasurer of The Stars’ United Club under the presidency of Mr. Vivian Ricketts, and was also a member of the club’s netball team, and track and field.

 

She migrated to the United States in 1996 and has since resided in Brooklyn, New York, with her daughter Shonaine aka Ginette.

 

She continued her academic pursuits by attending the City University of New York -- Brooklyn College campus, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Finance and Accounting.

 

She gave her life to Jesus Christ in 1999. She is a devout Christian who attends the Rugby Deliverance Tabernacle, where she served as the assistant secretary for seven (7) years and secretary for two (2) years. She is currently the secretary for the Trinity Theological Seminary in Brooklyn, New York. In October, 2014, she was ordained as a deacon.

 

Her personal philosophy of life is that one should nip things in the bud -- meaning to stop the cause of a problem before the problem becomes greater. She also believes strongly that every individual deserves the opportunity to succeed.

 

With this in mind, she feels she is a custodian of the culture and beauty of the Red Hills community and thus seeks to assist in nurturing the same feelings in others.

Horald Gordon
Public Relation

Mr. Gordon was born in 1959 at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica and grew up in Red Hills, St. Andrew. He first lived in Belvedere. Then, at a tender age, he moved to Marvaley Mountain, where he attended Marvaley Mountain Basic School. He then moved back to Red Hills proper and attended Red Hills Primary School, before going on, in1970, to Rock Hall All Age School while living at Rock Pond.

 

There he went on to become Head Boy as well as the captain of the schools’ football team. He became very involved in youth activities in the community: Red Hills Baptist Church Youth Group, Red Hills United Youth Club, and the 40th Company Red Hills Boys Brigade, to name a few. He was renowned for his comedic, but caring, personality, earning him the nickname “Brattie.”

 

In 1979 Harold Gordon attended Tavares Gardens Trade Training Centre and learned electrical installation. He then attended St. Andrew Technical High to pursue electrical engineering. Life’s circumstances quickly altered the academic quest and forced him into the job market. He lived with and cared for two younger brothers and many friends. His first job was with Beckford’s Auto Supplies. He subsequently migrated to the USA in 1985, where again he became involved in volunteer groups and was a member of the East Flatbush Superstars Football Club.

 

Over the course of a diverse 25-year career, Mr. Gordon has proven to be a skilled professional in the areas of human resource management, sales, and customer service, with a track record of success across various industries such as the energy, retail, telecom, and transportation industries. He currently holds the position of Supervisor with the Toronto Transit Commission in Ontario, Canada.

 

Harold Gordon has a passion for being a solution and for driving change. In addition to serving as the Public Relation Officer on the Board of the Red Hills Retro Link Up, with a commitment to improving the lives of youths in the Red Hills community in St Andrew, Jamaica, he has also volunteered within several charitable outreach ministries within his community in Toronto and Ontario, Canada, over the past several years.

 

He studied at New York City Tech, New York and Humber College in Ontario, Canada. He is married and has two beautiful daughters and enjoys a good game of domino, or soccer, from time to time and still loves to do electrical work. He loves the Lord and loves people.

Donovan Carr
Asst Treasurer

 

Donovan Carr is the Assistant Treasurer of Red Hills Retro Link Up.

He was born to Bernice and Allan Carr in October 1962 in Stony Hills, St. Andrew. His family later moved to the Red Hills Community. He attended Rock Pond Basic and Red Hills Basic Schools. He later attended the Red Hills All Age School where he was very fortunate to be one of Mrs. Luna Matthews' students. Donovan also attended the Rock Hall All Age School where he passed his Common Entrance Exam for Meadowbrook High School in 1975, and graduated with the class of 1980.

 

Donovan was active member of the Red Hills United Club under the presidency of Stuart Stevenson. He was a member of the club’s soccer team.

He migrated to the United States in 1982 and lived in Brooklyn, New York. He later he moved to Orange, New Jersey. Donovan was a very talented and ambitious athlete. He ran track and field, played rugby and soccer. He was a member of the Orange Kickers Soccer Club, New Jersey.

 

Donovan has a passion for helping and giving back to his community, and continued doing so by volunteering at his church’s Food Pantry every Saturday; and most importantly, he continues to be very supportive in words and deeds to his family and friends. In addition, he is a member of Meadowbrook High School Alumni Association NY/NJ Chapter.

 

Donovan has been married to his beautiful Dahlia for over 30 years the union produced four children. In his leisure time Donovan enjoy a good soccer game.
